For an undisclosed sum, Austrian packaging manufacturer Coveris (Vienna; www.coveris.com) has acquired a majority stake in competitor DK Lamin (Zascianki, Poland; https://dklamin.com.pl). The previous owner, Pawel Daniluk, will remain at the helm of the Polish company as managing director.

Coveris CEO Christian Kolarik wants to accelerate the cooperation between DK Lamin and Coveris Pirto, the company Coveris founded three years ago in Hungary, in order to develop the Eastern European market more efficiently.

According to Coveris, DK Lamin is “a fast-growing and profitable manufacturer of high-quality laminated films and flexible packaging”. Sales focus is on packaging for food, pet food, household and personal care, and medical products.

The company extrudes normal polyethylene and coextruded PE shrink films. The portfolio also includes laminates in various forms, including HDPE, LDPE, and polypropylene with PET, polyamides, aluminium, and paper for film packaging and as thermoforming rigid film. Some of these are further processed in-house into readymade and printed pouch packaging.
