A range of quark-based cooking sauces from UK dairy company First Milk (Paisley, Glasgow; www.firstmilk.co.uk) has been launched in recyclable thin wall packaging by Coveris Rigid UK, part of US packaging giant Coveris (Chicago, Illinois; www.coveris.com).
The Mansfield-based packaging supplier developed the 100% recyclable thin wall packaging with in-mould labelling decoration for the dairy company’s naturally low fat Lake District Dairy Co cooking sauces. The high quality print of the label is an integral part of the product and cannot be removed, peeled away or damaged by the sauce itself, the company said.
David Young, First Milk’s marketing director, said: “Coveris were a pleasure to work with, and their support throughout the product’s development ensured that our needs and deadlines were met. Achieving the best shelf appeal possible is crucial to retail sales and we are delighted with the outcome.”
The new quark-based cooking sauces will be available in UK retailers at the end of August 2014, and come in three flavours: tikka, garlic & herb, and tomato & basil. In June 2014 the cooking sauces were regarded as the “Best brand extension” at the World Dairy Innovation Awards in Lucerne / Switzerland.
