ING acquires shares of holding company / New washing plant in the Netherlands for PE and PP recycling
Info: According to De Paauw Recycling, majority owner Roy de Paauw will remain in control of the company. Plasteurope.com had previously reported that ING would take control, as published by the German federal cartel authority.
The investment arm of ING (Amsterdam / The Netherlands; www.ing.com), ING Corporate Investments Participates, has acquired 45% of the shares of holding company Rodepa Vastgoed (Enschede / The Netherlands). The holding company includes recycling companies Rodepa Plastics (Hengelo / The Netherlands; www.rodepaplastics.nl) and De Paauw Recycling (www.de-paauw-recycling.nl). The remaining 55% and control over De Paauw/Rodepa will remain with Roy de Paauw, the CFO of De Paauw Recycling Jeoen Orriƫns said.10.11.2017 10:37:18
In separate company news, Rodepa announced it had purchased a new washing machine with a capacity of up to 10,000 t/y input for its recycling plant in Hengelo. The machine from Herbold Meckesheim (Meckesheim / Germany; www.herbold.com) is able to process dimensionally stable films and rigid plastics made of PE and PP, the companies said. The plant structure includes a shredder with downstream separation of impurities, friction scrubber, wet mill, separation stage, drying and air separation. It is the second plant of this type at the site. The first film washing plant was commissioned at the beginning of 2016.
The recycled material is granulated at Rodepa Plastics or resold as regrind. The company has a nameplate capacity of around 35,000 t/y of recyclate and 10,000 t/y of regrind. Rodepa Plastics mainly recycles PP, LDPE and PS from industrial and post-consumer waste. At the end of 2016, a fire devastated large parts of the plant (see Plasteurope.com of 06.10.2016). Its adjacent sister company De Paauw Recycling, which was spared from the fire, specialises in the processing of ABS, PET, PVC and PC. Both export primarily to the Far East.
