Doors opened at new Spanish R&D centre / Packaging machinery plants in Barcelona and Brazil

Spanish-based Comexi Group (Girona; www.comexigroup.com), machinery specialists for the flexible packaging conversion industry, has recently opened a new research centre with a focus on prototype testing and validation activities as well as for the development of new products. The new 550 m2 facility includes a large machinery park with a flexographic printing system and EB continuous lamination capabilities as well as a gas chromatograph to control solvent retention and a digital dynamometer for controlling bond strength.
The company said the R&D centre and another technology centre planned for opening yet this year, reinforce the global strategy, which is focused on innovation. The other additional centre will concentrate on training, consultancy services and academic activities.
The family-owned, Catalan company is a global supplier with more than 400 employees and two plants – one in Barcelona and another in Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil.
