Extrusion machinery manufacturer Gruppo Colines (Nibbia / Italy; www.colines.it) is growing its international footprint, particularly in North America. The group in June announced that Colines USA Corporation (Hauppauge, New York / USA) will become fully operational in September this year, allowing it to shorten response time and improve local support. The subsidiary is said to be located near a number of existing customers, ongoing projects and historical business partners, Colines said, adding that it will also include a full-time technical staff.
Illustrating the company’s growth in this world region, Colines said it will be installing seven cast stretch film lines across Latin America this year, with widths ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 mm. One of its global bestsellers, the “ALLrollEX”, is due to be installed shortly at the facility operated by Mexico’s Interfilms, part of Grupo Milex (Torreón Coahuila / Mexico; www.grupomilex.com). Colines’ remaining machinery portfolio is also in demand in North America, and the group in March installed one of its “Bubble Guard Board” lines at Primex Plastics (Richmond, Indiana / USA; www.primexplastics.com). The latter purports to be the largest extruder of rigid PS films in the US, and operates a total of 125 extrusion lines.
However, North America is not the only region where Colines’ activities are growing. The group in May entered into a sales partnership with Plewa Consult (Eitorf / Germany; www.plewaconsult.com), a specialist in the marketing of extrusion machinery in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.
Founded in 1973, Colines produces cast and blow film extrusion machines at three plants in Italy.
