Feasibility study for the increase in PU pre-polymer production / Targeting Asian markets
Italian PU specialist Coim (Settimo Milanese; www.coimgroup.com) has recently commissioned a feasibility study to determine the impact of raising low free isocyanates pre-polymers output, earmarked for Asian markets. The study demonstrates the company's "commitment to continuing investing in polyurethane speciality products," said Coim USA's president, Lucio Siano. The group provided no further details regarding capacity or capital involved in the strategy to increase output.

Coim currently produces its "Imuthane" and "Versathane" low free isocyanates polyurethanes at its US production site in Paulsboro, New Jersey, which it acquired from Air Products in 2010. Both types are primarily used in systems for hot mould elastomers. Coim also manufactures polyols as well as ready-to-use PU systems.
