CLOSED LOOP RECYCLING
World's first mixed bottle recycling plant
Closed Loop Recycling (Dagenham / UK; www.closedlooprecycling.co.uk) has opened the world’s first plant that will recycle mixed plastic bottle waste back into food grade material. The plant has a capacity to take 35,000 t of recovered HDPE milk bottles and PET soft drinks bottles annually. The capacity is already fully allocated. The first customers to purchase food-grade recycled polymer from the plant will include Coca-Cola Enterprises (Uxbridge / UK; www.cokecce.co.uk), Marks & Spencer (London / UK; www.marksandspencer.com) and Nampak Plastics Europe (Newport Pagnell / UK; www.eu.plastics.nampak.com).
