CLARIANT
Phthalate-free colouration options for soft and rigid PVC products / Available as dust-free powder and pellets
Swiss speciality chemicals group Clariant (Muttenz; www.clariant.com) has introduced a new family to its range of plastics colourants. "Telasperse PVC" is for plasticised and non-plasticised PVC, and comprises seven colours (one blue, three reds and three yellows) as well as two blacks and one white, with more colours to be added in the future. The new products are free-flowing, dust-free powder pigment preparations, and contain 40-50% organic pigment. Upon request, they can also be supplied in pellet form.
Telasperse PVC is phthalate-free and stabilisation is lead-free, as well as regulatory compliant including RoHS, EN71-3, 94/62/EG, AP89 (I) and EU 10/2011. Clariant says the colourants are suitable for cables, profiles and flooring, with selected products in the range also suitable for food-contact applications and toys. Although developed specifically for plasticised PVC, Telasperse PVC can also be used in some rigid PVC formulations.
