CINPRES
Technology agreement with Volkswagen
Gas-assisted moulding specialist Cinpres (Sutton Coldfield / UK; www.gasinjection.com) has signed an agreement for Volkswagen to use its technology in the manufacture of internal trim components at the Wolfsburg plant. At the same time, VW will be advising its suppliers that any components it buys that have been produced using the Cinpres technology must be covered by appropriate licences acquired by the suppliers. According to Cinpres managing director Jon Butler, this is a clear signal that VW expects ethical and legal behaviour from its suppliers. Cinpres says it has spent some USD 10m developing and legally protecting its patents and rights globally.
