CINPRES GAS INJECTION
Patented technologies acquired from US rival / Single licence for outflow moulding techniques
Gas- and fluid-assisted moulding equipment specialist Cinpres Gas Injection (GB-Middlewich CW10 0GD; www.cinpres.com) has acquired exclusive rights to the patented technologies owned by its US rival Alliance Gas Systems (Chesterfield Township, Michigan 48047 / USA; www.plasticstechnology.com). As a result, Alliance will no longer sell fluid-assisted systems and accessories, but will concentrate on its role as a producer of water- and gas-assisted mouldings for the North American market. Cinpres will service existing Alliance customers with support services and gas and water injection equipment and injectors.
In technology terms, Cinpres chairman Terry Pearson said, the acquisition will allow a merger of the patents for the Cinpres “Plastic Expulsion Process” (PEP) and Alliance´s compatible “Backspill Process” into a single Cinpres licence.
Alliance principals are to maintain a development centre for implementation of gas- and water-assisted products and tooling dedicated to product and process advancement. Cinpres also will use the centre as a showcase for its gas and water technology.
