CINCINNATI EXTRUSION
New “Konos” machinery range launched
Cinicinnati Extrusion (A-1230 Wien; www.cet-austria.com) a subsidiary of SMS Plastics Technology (D-58540 Meinerzhagen; www.sms-k.com), has introduced its new “Konos” range of extruders with capacities from 20-300 kg/h for profile extrusion and 50-500 kg/h for pipe extrusion. The conical twin screw machines have robust drives for high pressure working and are designed for frequent changes of dies for a wide range of materials and applications.
The four models feature enhanced surface properties to reduce dwell times and are suitable for processing materials sensitive to shearing stress. Cincinnati says the Konos machines, equipped with “Intracool” screw temperature control, have a short footprint, making them suitable for use as co-extruders. The control system operates under Windows XP and according to the company facilitates control and monitoring of the entire extrusion process.
