CHEM-TREND
Solvent-free mould cleaner for thermoplastics
Mould release agent specialist Chem-Trend (Europe: Maisach / Germany; www.chemtrend.com) has introduced its first solvent free mould cleaner developed specifically for use in the thermoplastic industry. “Lusin” Clean L101 F is non-flammable and can be applied directly to the mould at temperatures of up to 150 ºC. It conforms to NSF K1 and K3 requirements for use in the food industry in non-food contact applications. In addition to the cleaning of moulds, the product is suitable for the cleaning of compounding and masterbatch equipment contaminated by colour pigments.
Chem-Trend says that Lusin Clean L101 F uses a VOC neutral propellant in place of butane or propane, meaning the active content of the aerosol is more than doubled, significantly increasing the yield per can. As the mould does not have to cool down prior to application, its use also speeds up the mould cleaning process.
