CELANESE
Launch of materials to assist in polymer innovations / Applications with PEEK, LFT, PPS, PA and POM sheets
US technology and speciality materials company Celanese (Dallas, Texas; www.celanese.com) has recently introduced five polymers to assist in design and product development in the automotive, medical, consumer, electronics and industrial markets.
“Celapex” high flow PEEK addresses issues typically associated with injection moulding processing of the material, enabling the production of thin wall, intricate parts with precision and tight tolerance, the company said.
“Celstran” high flow LFT adds to the company’s range of long fibre reinforced thermoplastics to help moulders and designers develop thinner, lighter, and more efficient components and parts, while “Fortron” flexible PPS, a durable, heat resistant polymer is now available with the flexibility required for clips, fasteners, tubes, and cable ties in automotive and industrial systems.
“Hostaform” M25IE POM assists in the calendering process to produce POM sheets in a wide range of thicknesses and sizes and has been developed to maintain the product’s strength, durability, moisture and chemical resistance as well as tribological properties. Finally, “MetaLX” produces metal- and mould-in-colour effects in PA.
