ITW sleeve label business bought for EUR 68m / Manufacturing sites in UK, Austria and Brazil
Specialty packaging company CCL Industries (Toronto / Canada; www.cclind.com) has acquired the sleeve label business of Illinois Tool Works (Glenview, Illinois / USA; www.itw.com) on a debt-free basis for about CAD 105m (about EUR 68m) in cash. ITW produces shrink- and stretch-film sleeve labels at two plants in the UK and in facilities in Austria and Brazil. Together, these businesses had sales of about CAD 87m in 2006. The transaction is expected to close at the end of January 2007.
