Danish brewery plans to manufacture PET bottles in Hamburg

Taking more than EUR 40m in investment money, Danish brewery Carlsberg (Copenhagen; www.carlsberggroup.com) plans to strengthen its German business, centred on the “Holsten”, “Astra”, “Duckstein”, “Carlsberg” and “Lübzer” brands. The plans call for Holsten’s brewery in Hamburg / Germany to install its own PET bottle manufacturing line by next year.
Output from the new facility is to go towards other Carlsberg sites, too, including the brewery in Lübz / Germany. Other Carlsberg sites outside of Germany also have lines to produce their own PET bottles.
