Universal masterbatch range extended to meet US and EU food contact regulations
Speciality chemicals and performance materials producer Cabot (Boston, Massachusetts / USA; www.cabotcorp.com) has extended its range of universal masterbatch products for the colouring of a wide range of polymers with the launch of “Plasblak” UN2015, UN2017 and UN2019. “Plasblak” UN2019 is compliant with the EU and US Federal Drug Administration requirements for plastics food contact applications.

The company’s range also meets demand for increased use of recycled resins in non-food contact applications, with three products meeting this need – “Plasblak” UN2014, UN2016 and UN6289 black masterbatches, which are cost-effective solutions that can be used when compliance with EU plastics food contact regulations is not required. Formulators can use a single masterbatch for a wide range of polymers including engineering plastic resins such as ABS, PA and POM.
