The BSW group (Earlston / UK; www.bsw.co.uk) has acquired wood plastic composites (WPC) manufacturer Alvic Plastics (Telford / UK) for an undisclosed amount. With the acquisition of its previous partner, the forestry and timber group is expanding its product portfolio.
Alvic started WPC production in January 2017, and partnered with BSW to launch a mono deck board earlier this year. New products are currently under development by the two companies, with launches scheduled for 2019. BSW intends to invest several million pounds in expanding capacity at Alvic. Al Ghattaura will stay on as the WPC producer's CEO and remain a minority shareholder.
