Chinese film manufacturer Jiangsu Suqian Color Plastic Packing (Suqian, Jiangsu Province; http://jscppcl.en.china.cn) reportedly was immediately able to “produce A-grade quality” after starting up its new BOPET line in late December 2010. Developed by Brückner (Siegsdorf / Germany; www.brueckner.com), the new 8.7m BOPET line has an initial capacity of about 30,000 t/y. Brückner says the line is unique in terms of energy efficiency thanks to its twin-screw technology as well as its capacity to engage in direct flake processing.
According to its own figures, Jiangsu Suqian each year produces more than 5m battery labels, 15,000 t/y of vacuum metalised film and hot stamping foils, 10,000 t/y of PVC twist and shrink wrap film as well as 15,000 t/y of polyester film.
