BRÜCKNER FORMTEC
High volume PET extrusion at K 2007 / Three new lines
Three, five tonne high performance cast PET film extrusion lines are currently being assembled by Brückner Formtec (Siegsdorf / Germany; www.brueckner.de), two of which will be delivered by the end of 2007. Three-layer cast film thickness capabilities range from 125 to 1,000 µm in film widths up to 1.9 m at a maximum speed of 150 m/min. Extrusion outputs are currently available up to 5,000 kg/h. The technology will feature at K 2007.

The chill rolls, with diameters up to 2.4 m, feature electrostatic pinning for film lay-on and a declining pitch spiral design, which optimises uniform cooling. The film profile is measured by a beta-ray gauge linked to Brückner's "TCE” thickness control system, which makes automatic adjustments to the thickness profile to maintain film quality. Inline coating or lamination up to seven layers is also possible.
