BRUJ
Distributor for Sasol's PE materials in Benelux and German-speaking countries
Plastics trader Bruj International (Tholen / The Netherlands; www.bruj.eu) has signed a distribution agreement with South African petrochemicals group Sasol (Johannesburg; www.sasol.com). With this, Bruj becomes the official distributor for Sasol's PE products in Austria, the Benelux region, Germany and Switzerland. Bruj CEO Johan Vanhees says the distribution contract moves ahead the Dutch company's European growth strategy for PE materials.
Bruj International has been active in Europe since 2008 and currently has 25 employees. It works with logistics partner Van Donge & De Roo (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.vandongederoo.com) to source and import products to Europe from various countries all over the world. The Dutch company also distributes PS, PP and PVC.
According to Plasteurope.com's Polyglobe database (www.polyglobe.net), Sasol has a capacity of about 370,000 t/y of LDPE and LLDPE in South Africa. The company is currently expanding capacities in the US. At the end of 2017, joint venture Sasol Ineos North America launched a bimodal HDPE line with a capacity of 470,000 t/y in Texas. An HDPE/LLDPE swing line is set to follow in Louisiana this year, with a 420,000 t/y line for LDPE at this same location in 2019 – see Plasteurope.com of 25.08.2016.
