Change of leadership at Brazilian polyolefin group

Ahead of its looming exit at Braskem (São Paulo; www.braskem.com – see Plasteurope.com of 17.11.2022), controlling shareholder Novonor (Salvador da Bahia, Brazil; www.novonor.com) is installing a new boss at the helm of the Brazilian polyolefins producer.
Current CEO Roberto Simões, who is stepping down after only three years at the top of the company, will be replaced by Roberto Bischoff as of 1 January 2023, Braskem announced.
Bischoff, equipped with a degree in mechanical engineering, worked for Braskem and its JV Braskem Idesa in various positions from 1979 to 2019, including the establishment of the polyethylene production, Etileno XXI, in Mexico. He currently serves as CEO of Ocyan, an oil and gas exploration company controlled by Novonor.
