Polyolefin and biopolymer producer Braskem (São Paulo / Brazil; www.braskem.com) has announced that its polypropylene filament and pellets for additive manufacturing are now available on the online marketplace of Nexeo Plastics (The Woodlands, Texas / USA; www.nexeoplastics.com). Braskem said the new partnership allows it to to extend international distribution to North America and Europe.

Due to their recyclability, impact strength, chemical resistance, dimensional stability and lower density, Braskem’s polypropylene filaments and pellets are said to be well-suited for 3D printing applications. The company’s filaments are available in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm diameters to suit a range of printer applications.

With 8,000 employees and 41 industrial units in Brazil, the US, Mexico and Germany, Braskem reported net revenue of USD 11.4 bn (EUR 9.7 bn) in 2020.
