Ineos PE technologies selected for Ascent project in USA
Brazilian resins major Braskem (São Paulo; www.braskem.com.br) has selected Ineos (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com) PE technologies for its proposed Ascent (Appalachian Shale Cracker Enterprise) cracker and PE project in West Virginia / USA. Ineos said it will provide its “Innovene” S and Innovene G technologies for the production of LLDPE and HDPE.
Earlier this year Braskem secured an ethane feedstock supply agreement for the Ascent project with US oil and gas company Antero Resources (Denver, Colorado; www.anteroresources.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 08.04.2014. Braskem is implementing the Ascent project with parent company Odebrecht (Salvador / Brazil; www.odebrecht.com).
Ineos is already supplying its Innovene S technology for Braskem’s joint venture cracker and PE project with Mexico’s Idesa (Mexico City; www.idesa.com.mx) which is under construction in Mexico. This project, named Ethylene XXI, is on schedule for start-up next year – see Plasteurope.com of 16.11.2011.
