Roofing system for flat roofs: Marketing joint venture in Czech republic with Fatra
Braas Flachdachsysteme GmbH (D-61440 Oberursel) and the Czech company Fatra as (CZ-76361 Napajedla) have agreed to form a joint venture, Braas-Fatra spol.sro. The purpose of the joint venture, according to Braas, is the joint marketing of PVC roofing membranes and fittings. The existing Fatra sales companies for flat roofing systems, Simatos in Prag and Izolfa in Stare Mesto, will also be incorporated. Additional programmes for product and manufacturing technology will assure the basis for joint production of PVC roofing membranes in the Czech Republic.

In 1993 Braas Flachdachsysteme achieved a turnover of DM 225.2m with 650 employees. Fatra is an important plastics converter with 1,850 workers, which achieved DM 102m turnover in 1993. Their major products included flooring systems, packaging materials and press and injection moulded parts in addition to roofing membranes.
