BPI
Investment in co-extrusion lines for agricultural films
British Polythene Industries (BPI, Greenock / UK; www.bpipoly.com) has invested EUR 8m on two five-layer co-extrusion lines for its agricultural films division, based in Leominster / UK. The lines will increase throughput and provide quicker turnaround times. They are part of a larger agricultural films investment programme that has seen the group install four other manufacturing lines across its sites producing silage film since 2000.
Chief executive John Langlands says the latest investment will add flexibility to BPI’s manufacturing processes and enable it to take forward new products, such as “SilotitePro” silage stretch film and “Baletite” bale wrapping film.
