Swedish labels company BEAB acquired / Collaboration to continue growth in China
Swedish packaging group Boxon (Helsingborg; www.boxon.com) has acquired a 70% stake in label and systems company BEAB (Boras / Sweden; www.beab.nu) as it aims to broaden its portfolio. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition of BEAB, which employs 45 people, will increase the annual turnover of this particular business area by EUR 10m to EUR 18m. Anders Yllfors, Boxon’s CEO, said: “Along with the current owners, we will continue to build a leading labelling and traceability concept.” BEAB’s CEO Ulf Nordgard added: “We will continue to grow in China, where both of us are already established.”
Boxon, which employs 220 workers, has an annual turnover of EUR 120m. The group acquired German bulk packaging producer Jumbotainer (Syke; www.jumbotainer.de) in September 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 19.09.2012.
