Polyolefins producer Borouge (Abu Dhabi / United Arab Emirates; www.borouge.com) has awarded Adnoc Logistics & Services (L&S), a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc, Abu Dhabi; www.adnoc.ae), with a contract for transporting Borouge's polymers. The three-year agreement will have Adnoc L&S manage the transportation of 11m t of polyolefins from the container terminal at Borouge's Ruwais production site to the ports of Khalifa and Jebel Ali, where they will be shipped.
The contract was awarded after a "rigorous" bidding process, said Borouge. Adnoc L&S regards itself as the Gulf region's largest fully-integrated marine and logistics company for the oil and gas industry. This deal with Borouge supports Adnoc's aim to grow its downstream activities under the "Strategy 2030" programme – see Plasteurope.com of 17.05.2018.
