Ground breaking ceremony for new innovation centre in Abu Dhabi

Together with the heads of parent companies Borealis (Vienna / Austria; www.borealisgroup.com) and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc, Abu Dhabi / UAE; www.adnoc.com), the management team of Borouge (Abu Dhabi / United Arab Emirates; www.borouge.com) on 27 April 2010 broke ground for its new innovation centre in Abu Dhabi.
Borouge has invested more than USD 70m into the equipment and facilities at the new centre, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011. Once operational, the Abu Dhabi innovation centre will work together with Borealis’ European innovation centres as well as local and international educational institutions.
The centre is the latest of Borouge’s efforts to upgrade its portfolio, including its “Borouge 2” expansion, scheduled to come on stream by mid-year – see Plasteurope.com of 22.03.2010. The company also recently announced that it will build an application centre at its new manufacturing plant in Shanghai – see Plasteurope.com of 23.04.2010.
