New automotive thermoplastics
Borouge (Abu Dhabi / United Arab Emirates; www.borouge.com) and Borealis (Vienna, Austria; www.borealisgroup.com) have introduced two high performance products tailored for the automotive industry. "Daplen ED230HP" is a low thermal expansion, high stiffness and impact resistant thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), developed jointly by Borealis and Plastic Omnium (Levallois / France; www.plasticomnium.com). The second, "Nepol GB215HP", has been developed with the BMW Group and is a 20% long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene for the upper, middle and lower parts of dashboard carriers.
