Polyolefin producer Borealis (Vienna; www.borealisgroup.com) said it has accepted the resignation of Lucrece Foufopoulos-De Ridder, executive vice-president for polyolefins, circular economy solutions, and innovation and technology, effective at year’s end, when she is also to exit the board of Borouge (Abu Dhabi; www.borouge.com).
Borealis told Plasteurope.com that 56-year-old’s successor remains unclear, with the company stating that her departure is to pursue other career opportunities.
Foufopoulos-De Ridder joined the Borealis executive board in January 2019 after earning industry experience with stints at a number major firms, including Eastman, Dow Corning, Dow Chemical, Rohm and Haas, and Tyco. She is also on the board of directors at industry association Plastics Europe (Brussels; www.plasticseurope.org).

Borealis announced two further staffing moves in the polyolefin division effective 1 September 2023.
Britta Warnke took over as VP for energy, and her former position of VP for mobility and advanced products has been filled by Shanila Baseley, the company said.
Warnke joined the company in 2018 and only last year assumed the job she has just left, according to Borealis. Baseley, previously global commercial director for advanced products, joined the polyolefin maker last year after working for DuPont and Innovia.
