Carbon black producer plans new facilities in India, Thailand
Indian carbon black manufacturer Birla Carbon (Mumbai, Maharashtra; www.birlacarbon.com) is planning to build two new plants – one in Niadupet in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and the other in Rayong, Thailand. Both production facilities are to be launched in 2025, each with a capacity of 120,000 t/y, according to the corporate unit of the Indian conglomerate Aditya Birla. Expansion to 240,000 t/y each is possible at a later date, the company said.

Birla Carbon also announced that the plant expansions in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary, and at the Patalganga industrial area in Maharashtra are going according to plan. The company has 17 production sites in 13 countries worldwide.
