BIOPACK
South African order for fruit trays
Expanding its international market presence, biodegradable packaging products designer, manufacturer and supplier Biopack Environmental Solutions (Hong Kong / China; www.biopackenvironmental.com) has secured an order for the delivery of its green coloured fruit trays to South Africa.

The order follows the South African government’s new guidelines, set in late 2008, to reduce several waste products, including plastics. Gerald Lau, Biopack CEO, said that, “South Africa is an emerging market for sustainable packaging and one we have targeted for quite some time. Biopack sees this initial order as a first step in an expansion strategy focusing on the fruit growers and processors of this growing economy.”

Biopack’s manufacturing facilities in Jiangmen / China produce packaging products made of sugar cane waste (“bagasse”). The company’s “Roots Biopack” packaging range is sold in several European countries, North America, Hong Kong, Tawain and South Africa.
