Fresh-Lock is launching a new portfolio of home-compostable closures for pouches designed with Tipa’s proprietary home-compostable resin formulation, which it says shares the same features as their existing plastic products, such as transparency and durability.
Tipa’s compostable material is seamlessly compatible with existing machinery throughout the entire supply chain of packaging production. When the packaging reaches its end of use, it can be placed in a compost bin with other organic material where it will disintegrate and biodegrade into nutrient-rich soil within months, Tipa said.

Under the partnership, Fresh-Lock launched its first two home-compostable closures, Style 8531 featuring child-resistant technology, and Style 8035, a versatile single-lock design for use in a wide range of applications, the company reported.
