With the founding of Bilcare GmbH (D-65926 Frankfurt), India´s Bilcare Ltd (Pune, Bombay; www.bilcare.com), which specialises in film packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, has made its first move into Europe. Up to now, the company, which also views itself as a service provider for drug development and offers auditing for the corresponding packaging processes, has had affiliates in Singapore, Brazil and the US. Bilcare´s mix of products and associated services can reduce technical complexity for customers and thus bring cost advantages, according to Klaus Schnupp, sales director Europe. The Indian parent company has annual sales of EUR 60m and some 220 employees.
