Distribution company Biesterfeld (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld.com) is expanding its long-term partnership with Swiss manufacturer 3A Composites Core Materials (Sins; www.3accorematerials.com). After handling the distribution of “Airex” foams and “Baltek” balsa wood-based products in Poland, the partnership has now been extended to include the distribution rights for Norway and Sweden.
Airex and Baltex composite products are core materials for sandwich technology. When used in sandwich structures, Airex is said to provide strength, stiffness, thermal insulation and potential weight savings of up to 50%. Baltek is a structural core material made of a natural and renewable resource, with properties including high impact and compression resistance, good strength and stiffness at low weight as well as easy formability. Applications include the marine, aerospace, transport, renewable energy and construction sectors.
