BIESTERFELD
Distribution of Lerg's unsaturated polyester resins / Larger product portfolio for German market
Biesterfeld Spezialchemie (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld-spezialchemie.com) has taken over sales and distribution of Lerg’s (Pustków / Poland; www.lerg.pl) unsaturated polyester resins (UP resins). Biesterfeld says that this cooperation expands its product portfolio of fibre-reinforced composites for the German market.
Distributed under the name “Estromal”, the range includes both standard resins based on phthalic and terephthalic acid as well as resins made of isophthalic acid/neopentyl glycol and dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) for the production of high-end fibre-reinforced composites. Estromal materials offer good mechanical characteristics and short post-curing times.
Lerg produces synthetic resins that have applications in various industries, such as construction, motorisation, furniture and mining. Its polyester and novolac resins are used in wood-based and insulation materials, layered plastics and gel-coats.
