Acquisition of French rubber distributeur SMPC
Taking its first foray into the rubber and specialised additives business, Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld.com) on 1 October acquired French rubber distributeur Spécialités et Matières Premières du Caoutchouc (SMPC, Chartres). The selling price was not disclosed. Biesterfeld hopes the acquisition will strengthen its business in France and ultimately wants to extend the company further as an independent division.
