Strong business in 2007
Operating profits at distributor Biesterfeld (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld.com) increased by 28% year-on-year to reach EUR 34.6m in 2007. Sales rose by 21% to EUR 836m, making 2007 the most successful year in the company’s history. The largest part of the company is major pan-European plastics distributor Biesterfeld Plastic (www.biesterfeld-plastic.com), which posted non-consolidated sales of around EUR 548m. The results for the individual segments were not revealed, although the family-owned business said that all three business divisions recorded “considerable” sales growth during the year.
