BIESTERFELD PLASTIC
Distributing Nurel's “Inzea” biodegradable polymers in select European countries / Suitable for food contact applications
Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld-plastic.com) has started distributing Nurel Engineering Polymers’ (Zaragoza / Spain; www.nurel.com) “Inzea” range of fully biodegradable polymers in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Austria as well as the Benelux and CIS regions, with the exception of Poland.
The grades are suitable for injection moulding, extrusion and thermoforming and consist of up to 85% renewable resources, including polylactic acid or starch. All the Inzea products are suitable for food contact, and comply with EU regulation no. 10/2011 on plastic. The Spanish group – a subsidiary of Samca (Zaragoza / Spain; www.samca.com) – says applications include packaging as well as products used in agriculture and horticulture, including planers and clamps. Thanks to their low processing temperatures, the biopolymers help converters save energy costs, the company added.
