Joint venture with Fred Holmberg in Sweden / German Swedish distributor gains Nordic foothold
Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg / Germany), part of the Biesterfeld Group (Hamburg; www.biesterfeld.com), has gained a foothold in the Scandinavian countries through a newly established 50:50 partnership with Swedish family-owned distributor Fred Holmberg (Malmö; www.holmberg.se). The joint venture Biesterfeld Nordic AB (Malmö / Sweden) began operation on 1 January 2013.
Carsten Harms, managing director of Biesterfeld Plastic, said he believes that now is the right time to establish a presence in the Nordic countries with a strong local player, adding that the company expects “further consolidation in the region.” The Swedish company’s managing shareholder and managing director of Biesterfeld Nordic Fred Holmberg said the partnership would bring the “highest technical skills and services” to the Nordic markets.
