Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg / Germany; www.biesterfeld-plastic.com) has extended its agreement as the pan-European distribution partner of Ineos Nova (Fribourg / Switzerland; www.ineos-nova.com) for “Empera” grades of PS to include the UK and Ireland, where the materials will be sold by the joint venture company Biesterfeld Petroplas (Reading / UK). The change took effect on 1 July 2009. Existing, non-exclusive distribution agreements between Ineos Nova and other companies in the region are unaffected.

General manager Carsten Harms said he was delighted that Biesterfeld Plastic was continuing to extend its presence in the distribution of polystyrene into almost all European regions. He added: “We are proud that three years after our market entry into the UK and Ireland, our joint venture Biesterfeld Petroplas has the opportunity to expand their product range and offer Empera PS.”

At Ineos Nova, sales manager for Europe Robert Huetter said the extension of the partnership between the two companies would further strengthen the position of Biesterfeld Plastic as the largest European distributor for Ineos Nova.
