Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH (Ferdinandstr. 41, D-20095 Hamburg) is continuing to expand its European activities as plastics distributor. Alongside Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Poland, DuPont and Biesterfeld have now agreed that Biesterfeld will distribute DuPont's engineering thermoplastics in Italy too from 1 January 1997. To this end, Biesterfeld and the Italian company Polybass s.r.l. (Corso Venezia n. 9, I-20121 Milan) have signed a declaration of intent about the foundation of a joint venture. The new Biesterfeld Polybass s.r.l. will have its registered office in Milan and will distribute, in addition to the DuPont products, a variety of other thermoplastics, including products from the Chi Mei Corp, Taiwan. In order to ensure continuity in customer relations, staff from Du Pont de Nemours Italiana S.p.A. (Via Aosta 8, I- 20063 Cernusco sul Naviglio / ML) will be transferred to the new joint venture.
