German distributor Bieglo (Hamburg; www.bieglo.com) has added the products of two Chinese high-performance engineering plastics manufacturers to its portfolio. The Hamburg-based group has started distributing Shandong Dongchen Engineering Plastic’s (Shengjing, Shandong / China; www.dongchenchem.com) long-chain polyamides, including PA 6.10 and PA 6.12 in Europe. In an exclusive interview with Plasteurope.com at Chinaplas, Bieglo CEO John Biesterfeld said he believes the current market situation will allow his company to grow technical polyamide sales in the continent.

Another new addition are the CoPEEK grades of Panjin Zhongrun High Performance Polymer, part of Shenyang Zhongrun Chemical (Shenyang, Liaoning / China; http://syzr.en.gongchang.com). Reported to be one of the world’s leading PEEK producers with a nameplate capacity of maximum 1,000 t/y – the Chinese company says the agreement will allow it to extend its reach in Europe and especially in German speaking regions as well as Belgium. Bieglo’s chief executive said CoPEEK would be one of the main foci at the distributor’s booth at the upcoming Fakuma fair (www.fakuma-messe.de), held from 16-20 October in Friedrichshafen / Germany.

According to Steven Xu, Marketing and Sales director of Panjin Zhongrun High Performance Polymer, the high-performance PEEK can be offered at a competitive price. But not the price would be decisive for customers but the added value of the material, he explained to PIE.
