BIAXPLEN
Sibur subsidiary now part of Basic Polymers division / CEOs reshuffled
Biaxplen (Nizhny Novgorod / Russia; www.biaxplen.ru), a subsidiary of Russia’s petrochemical giant Sibur (Moscow; www.sibur.com) and the country’s largest BOPP producer, has been integrated into the company’s Basic Polymers division with effect from the end of October 2015.
The Basic Polymers division produces PP, the main feedstock for BOPP film. Sibur said the integration will ensure leaner management, contribute to the exploration of new markets, and refine the product mix.
Employees of Biaxplen’s Moscow branch have transferred to the division. Facilities in Novokuybyshevsk, Balakhna, Zheleznodorozhny, Kursk and Tomsk will stay as Biaxplen branches. The Biaxplen brand and trademark will also remain in place.
Sergey Komyshan has been appointed as Biaxplen’s CEO, adding to his role as managing director of Sibur’s Basic Polymers division. Anton Matvienko, Biaxplen’s former CEO, has been appointed as advisor to the CEO of Sibur.
