New Romanian plant to boost just-in-time efficiency / Strengthens position to supply European auto makers

Plastic injection moulders Bianor (Bialystok / Poland; www.bianor.pl) have opened a new plant in the Romanian city of Ploiesti. The 4,700 m² facility, 56 km north of Bucharest, has 35 employees and 10 injection moulders producing plastic parts for the automobile manufacturing and consumer goods industries. "Rumania's importance as an export-oriented parts supplier, especially for the automobile industry, is growing within Europe," noted Hans de Haas, company CEO. The cost for the new site was not provided.
With the new southeastern European location, Bianor, a Dutch Polish joint venture founded in 1997, aims to bolster its efficiency in the just-in-time delivery chain for the assembly lines of its current customers. Some of its customers include household appliance manufacturer Bosch-Siemens, power tool maker Makita, office supplies specialist Esselte, baby seat manufacturers Newell Rubbermaidand packagers MeadWestvaco.
