As part of a succession plan at German plastics reclaim company Best Plastic Management (BPM, Bösel; www.best-plastic.de), the company has been purchased by compatriot investment firm Vidia (Munich; www.vidiaequity.com). Financial details were not disclosed.

BPM employs a staff of 45 and mainly processes polystyrene and polypropylene waste from the post-industrial sector. Production capacity is said to be around 20,000 t/y, which will be increased to 60,000 t/y within the next five years, according to Vidia founder Johanna Struthmann. Investments are also to be made in new production facilities, the new owner said without supplying figures on the amount of spending or details on those steps.

At the beginning of 2021, BPM built a EUR 1.5 mn hall covering almost 3,000 m² at company headquarters. In addition to the production of PS and PP regranulate and compounds for extrusion and injection moulding, the company, founded in 1993, also performs contract work.

Vidia, which was founded two years ago, said BPM is the first portfolio company in its Climate Fund I.
