US packaging giant Berry Global (Evansville, Indiana; www.berryglobal.com) has announced the launch of products for personal care under the “Berry Global B Circular” range. The first suite of products includes “Boston Round” bottles, “Flip Top” and tube closures, and refillable jars with up to 100% PCR plastic content, along with a mono-material lip care stick, refillable roll-on stick and mono-material airless dispensers.
The new range is particularly based on polypropylene, PET and polyethylene recyclate, a company representative told Plasteurope.com. In September this year, the group broke ground on a facility in Leamington Spa / UK to produce certified FDA post-consumer rPP for packaging applications (see Plasteurope.com of 24.09.2021).

30% circular plastics use by 2030
Recently, Berry unveiled its ambitious new sustainable packaging goal: 30% circular plastics use across fast-moving consumer goods packaging by 2030, which surpasses its previous goal to use 10% PCR resin by 2025. “Circular plastics include recycled and renewable resins like bioplastics,” the group said.
The packaging giant has also joined Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s “New Plastics Economy Global Commitment” and the World Wildlife Fund’s “Bioplastic Feedstock Alliance” (BFA) to support the development and sourcing of plastics made from plant material.
