At the start of January 2017, the German producer of reusable transport containers, bekuplast (Ringe; www.bekuplast.com), acquired plastic product manufacturer ERG-System (Laziska Górne / Poland; www.erg-system.pl). The purchase price has not been disclosed. The acquisition has brought the company’s workforce up to 400, with consolidated sales of EUR 95m.
The two companies’ product portfolios overlap extensively. While ERG-System produces reusable packaging in the form of transport boxes and bottle crates, along with grass grids, plastic pallets and plastic bins, bekuplast specialises in pallets, big containers and transport accessories made of PE-HD, PP and ABS. Bekuplast has 29 injection moulding machines with a capacity of 16m items per year.
