“Platilon” becomes new brand name for all TPU film products
The Epurex Films (Bomlitz / Germany; www.epurex.com) subsidiary of Bayer MaterialScience (BMS, Leverkusen / Germany; www.bayerbms.com) will begin marketing its “Walopur”, “Platilon” and “Walotex” thermoplastics polyurethane film products under the common trade name “Platilon” from 1 April 2010 onwards.
Rüdiger Heins, who heads Epurex Films’ sales and marketing division, said the move is meant to “further increase awareness of the name Platilon and to strengthen its position on the international markets”.
“Platilon” TPU films find application in watertight membranes for outdoor clothing, special plasters and as intermediate layers for bulletproof glass, among others.
