Brazil: Acquisition of the leading blow moulding machinery company
Group Battenfeld (HQ: D-58540 Meinerzhagen) announced at NPE Chicago that, through its Brazilian subsidiary Battenfeld Ferbate Equipamentos Ltda, it has acquired Pugliese Maquinias e Equipamentos of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Pugliese is a leading supplier of blow moulding machinery throughout the Latin American markets. It has annual sales of approximately $ 10m and a staff of 160 people. The company's range of blow moulding products includes: single-station continuous extrusion machines, doublestation continuous extrusion machines, and accumulatorhead systems to manufacture technical and industrial blow moulded parts. The continuous extrusion machines produce containers in a range up to five liter capacity.
The new company formed by the acquisition is called Battenfeld Pugliese Equipamentos Limitada. The facilities of the two previous companies have been combined and are now operating as a single unit in the former Ferbate plant in Osasco / Sao Paulo.
